Permanent Way

The maintenance of our two miles of track to Percy Main along with all the track in the yard at Middle Engine Lane is down to the efforts of the Permanent Way volunteers.

Working in this department can be heavy work. It can involve the larger repairs such as track panel renewals through to the lighter maintenance such as sleeper replacements, ferrule replacements, greasing/oiling and much more. Working in this department also involves maintaining the railways lineside fencing, foliage, and infrastructure.
