Welcome…

Founded in 1977, our not-for-profit Association is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the North East’s proud railway history. Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers, the railway now runs between Middle Engine Lane and Percy Main, following the route of a former British Rail line and passing the Silverlink Retail Centre along the way.

Whether you’re a lifelong railway enthusiast or looking for a fun family day out, there’s something for everyone — from steam train rides to fascinating stories of the people and engines that helped shape our region’s past.

Come and discover the magic of steam — right here in North Tyneside.
